He was born April 19, 1933, in Defiance, the son of Emery Sr. and Frances (Merz) Diamond. In 1954, he married E. Joanne Stover, who survives. He was a 1951 graduate of Ayersville High School. "Bud" Diamond, 74, Defiance, died at 8:23 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Defiance Regional Medical Center. He was born April 19, 1933, in Defiance, the son of Emery Sr. and Frances (Merz) Diamond. In 1954, he married E. Joanne Stover, who survives. He was a 1951 graduate of Ayersville High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Also surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Michael) Pessefall, Defiance; three sons, Nick (Deb) of Defiance, Dan (Julie Black) of Antwerp and Todd (Shara), Catawba, N.C.; two sisters, Gertrude Becher of Ayersville and Ruth Christman, Defiance; a brother, Robert, Defiance; and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Gary; a sister, Frances Murphy; and a brother, Emery Jr. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ayersville United Methodist Church with Rev. James Ernst officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens with graveside rites accorded by VFW Post 3360. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman-Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
