Description	:	Walter "Bud" Harrison, 74, passed away September 18, 2008, at his home in Hanover, KS. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. The Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Gail Gilkerson played the organ while Wayne Kruse sang "How Great Thou Art" and "You Walk With Thee". Pallbearers were Dennis Kracht, Bob Jewell, Keith Allerheiligen, Nick Brunstein, Larry Stigge and John Stigge, Jr. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Bud was born November 9, 1933, at Marysville, the son of George and Lucy (Ensworth) Harrison. He graduated from Marysville High School. He married Verla Niemann at Marysville in September of 1959. He worked at Howell Lumber. From 1969 until 1992, he owned and operated Hanover Lumber in Hanover. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Hanover American Legion and Hanover Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Verla Harrison of the home; two daughters, Sherrie Harrison and Pamela Harrison, both of Hanover; one grandson, Austin; two brothers, George Harrison of Sierra Vista, AZ, and John Harrison of Angel Fire, NM; and one sister, Mary Lou Smith of Marysville. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Gary and infant Richard Harrison. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
