Mr. Brown was retired from Murray Biscuit Company, and was a member of Travelers Rest First Baptist Church and the Sturdy Oaks Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Alpha Brown of the home; son, Marcus Jess Brown (Gail); daughter, Melinda Brown Long (Thom); sister, Judy Brown Justice (Sonny); brother, Eddie Brown of Clinton, SC; and four grandchildren, Catherine Long, Bryan Long, Samuel Brown, and Alice Brown. He was predeceased by a loving stepmother, Alma Cox Brown; and a son, Anthony Leland Brown. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., at Travelers Rest First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Moore, SC. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at Travelers Rest First Baptist Church. The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Travelers Rest First Baptist Church, 20 McElhaney Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
