Gustafson, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Beckley died at Lundberg Memorial Hospital March 1 at the age of 65. He had been in poor health in recent years. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Walter Losure Beckley was born Feb 8, 1895 on a farm southwest of Creighton in the Millerboro community. He was the youngest son of James K. and Mary Losure Beckley, early settlers of the community. He received his early education, grew to manhood and spent most of his life in the Millerboro area. He served in the Army during WWI. Mr. Beckley was married to Sara Brewster on Dec. 11, 1919 at Pierce. They moved to Creighton about 2 and a half years ago and built a new home. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Edith Brooks of Ft. Collins, Colo. and a foster son, Donald Bates of Ventura, Calif. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Edgar Lee and James K. Beckley and a sister, Harriet Beckley, besides his parents. Among those form out of town attending the services were Mrs. Pearl Beckley of Gordon; Leo Beckley of Bassett; Mr. and Mrs. Don Bates of Venture, Calif.; Mrs. May Knaap, Mrs. Edna Liebseek, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Auman and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Knapp of Orchard and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith of O'Neill.
