He was a devoted husband, father and Paw-Paw, and he loved to fish. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Kay Childers Mullinax and son of the late Dobson and Ruby Mullinax. Surviving in addition to his wife are five daughters, Renae Bolf (Scott), Mendy Gordon (Jackie), Tanya Blanton (Scotty), Daphne Mullinax (Steve Rollins) and Tassy Sutton (Eddie); eight grandkids, Angela Bolick (Bobby), Devan Bolf (Lindsay), Kayla Bolf, Jennifer Sutton (Greg Owens), Eddie Sutton, Jr., Rusty Blanton, Leigh Blanton and Mona Mullinax; three step-grandkids, Wesley Gordon, Andrea Hatcher, and Kaci Gordon; three great-grands, Kandace Bolick, Bobby Bolick, Jr. and Hayzlee Owens; three step-great-grands, Gage Gordon, Colin Turner and Nicoli Caggiano. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Chitwood, a brother, Freddy Mullinax, and a sister, Patsy Faye Mullinax. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Garner and Rev. Alger Galloway officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, S.C. 29650 or Journey Hospice, 1983 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.
