Description	:	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, February 25, 1999 Walter Perry Enterline was born August 3, 1902, on a farm near Sterling, NE to James Edward and Sarah Estaline [Parks] Enterline. He died Monday, February 15, 1999, at Prairie Vista Care Center in Holyoke, at the age of 96. Walter was the sixth of 10 children. Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, February 25, 1999 Walter Perry Enterline was born August 3, 1902, on a farm near Sterling, NE to James Edward and Sarah Estaline [Parks] Enterline. He died Monday, February 15, 1999, at Prairie Vista Care Center in Holyoke, at the age of 96. Walter was the sixth of 10 children. He attended school in Sterling, NE and lived there until the age of 19 when he moved to Douglas, NE. Mr. Enterline moved to Chase County when he was 28 years of age. He was drafted into the armed forces on June 13, 1942 and was discharged from active duty on March 6, 1943. Walter Enterline was united in marriage with Madge Maureen Bonner on April 14, 1944. To this union were born two sons, His oldest son died when he was a child as the result of a water heater explosion in 1949. Walter was injured in the same accident, receiving burns which required a year of recovery. His neighbors got together to plant and harvest Walter's crops during his convalescence. Mr. Enterline lived for 20 years in Bolivar, MO before returning to Chase County, NE. He moved to Prairie Vista Care Center in Holyoke in 1996 and lived there until his death. Walter Enterline was preceded in death by his wife, Madge, in 1993; son, Sterling, in 1949; three sisters, Annie, Minnie and Esta; and four brothers, David, Bill, Paul and Earl. Funeral services for Walter Perry Enterline were held on Saturday, February 20, at the First United Methodist Church of Holyoke. Interment followed at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial, NE. Pastor Darrell Dennis officiated at the services. The family has suggested contributions to the American Cancer Society.
