Description	:	Funeral Services for Walter Ralph Kemis Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church for Walter Ralph Kemis who died at his home in Spencer, May 28. The Rev. W. K. Williams was the officiating minister and burial was in North lawn cemetery. Rites of the American Legion were observed at the commitment service, which was under the direction of the Cobb-Warner Funeral home. Mrs. J. Obituary Walter Ralph Kemis, son of Walter A. and Edith Kemis, was born Oct 22, 1908, at Sioux City and came to Spencer with his parents as a youth. His father died in this city in 1939. He received his education in the public schools of Spencer, graduating from the Spencer high school, and continuing his further education by taking a business post-graduate course. He was united in marriage on August 11, 1933 to Gladys Severson, the ceremony taking place in Spencer. He lived in Spencer the greater part of his life, and spent two and a half years in the armed services during World War II. He had been an employee of Burnais and Pitcher for a number of years. He was a member of the First Congregational church of this city. He is survived by his widow, his mother, one sister, and two brothers. Transcribed from newspaper clipping kept by family member.
