His funeral will be at 11 AM on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at Albemarle Wesleyan Church and his family will receive friends at the Church from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM just prior to the hour of the service. Born June 15th, 1919 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Chandler was the son of the late Walter Grady and Mary Elizabeth Scarboro Chandler. He was a retired employee of Federal Pacific Electric Company and a member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church where he was also a member of the Wesleyan Men's Prayer Group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Nola Leonard Chandler; four brothers: Frank Chandler, Winfred Chandler, Dean Chandler, and Denny Chandler; and one sister, Linda Chandler. He is survived by one son, Ray Farrell Chandler, Sr. and wife Dorothy of Albemarle, NC; one daughter, Yvonne Chandler Drye and husband Tim Drye, Sr. of Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Ellerson Chandler of Albemarle, NC and Alton Chandler of Oakboro, NC; two sisters, Edith Rabon of Albemarle, NC and Alma Smith of Albemarle, NC; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
