Description	:	Walter S. "Simmy" Goodman of Chestertown died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002 in Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. He was 77. Mr. Goodman was born May 23, 1925, a lifetime resident of Kent County, son of the late William Walter and Lula Slagle Goodman. He was a World War II veteran serving with the Navy Sea Bees in the Phillipines. For 35 years, Mr. Goodman worked for the Acme Market in Chestertown as a butcher, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and fishing. Mr. Goodman was a member of the Frank M. Jarman American Legion 36, Chestertown. He is survived by his wife... Read More	Walter S. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Hilyard Goodman; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. "Jay" and Debbie Goodman of Chestertown; a brother, John Preston Goodman of Chester, PA; two grandsons, Jeffrey S. Goodman and Justin C. Goodman, both of Chestertown; two stepgranddaughters, Tanya Clark of Chestertown and Tabetha Voss, of Essex, MI and her children, Gunner and Ashley Voss, all of Essex. Friends may call from 1 to 2pm today in 1st United Methodist Church, High Street, Chestertown. Graveside services will follow in Chester Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeffrey Goodman, Justin Goodman, Tommy Pearce, Richard Thomas, Willis K. Jones, and George Johnson. Arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech.
