Services will be held at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard, and burial will be in the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Madison. Vanhove was born Dec. 13, 1916 on a farmstead near Larchwood, Iowa to Camille and Alice (Minnaert) Vanhove. He grew up and farmed most of his life in Lake County. He attended General Beadle grade school and graduated from Madison High School. He then attended General Beadle College in Madison. He married Adeline Klamm on May 28, 1949 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Madison. He owned Lake County Feed in Madison for several years. He was president of the Lake County Crop-Livestock Improvement Associated, served on the Madison Elevator Board, Farmington Township Officer, FHA Board in Lake County, the Kramer School transition school board, Board of Directors for the Howard Golf Club, treasurer of Tri-County Pork Council, was a council member for the City of Howard, member of the Howard Service Club, Community Club, and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife: Adeline of Howard; a son: John (Linda Joy) of Garretson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Cyrilla Allgaier of Madison; and Irma Holzworth of Gettysburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Albert, George, Robert; two sisters, Edith Seid, Alice Schroder. The Willoughby Funeral Home of Howard is in charge of arrangements.
