Read More	Wenatchee World - Friday, July 8, 2011 Walter "Bud" Burns Sr. Wenatchee, WA Walter Burns Sr., known as "Bud" to many, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2011, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 3, 1920, to Carrie and Joseph Burns in Denalda, Alberta, Walt spent most of his childhood in both the Wenatchee and Tacoma areas, until his final move to Wenatchee as a teen. A 1938 graduate of Wenatchee High School, he joined first his father in business, and then became the sole owner of Burns Heating and Air Conditioning. Walt was an avid bowler and a member of many teams over the years, and had a 190 average. In his later years, one of his greatest joys was beating bowlers much younger than he in competition. He also loved golf and after his retirement, was a member at Three Lakes Golf Club, playing a round nearly daily until only a few years ago, when health problems would no longer allow it. He loved animals and over the years, had many special dogs and cats, who he spoiled and doted upon. Walt was a loving and forgiving man, never held a grudge, loved to sing and always had a song in his heart. Walt is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maggie, of the home; sons, Walter E. Burns Jr. of East Wenatchee and David Burns of Wenatchee; daughter, Lori (Morgan) Wear of Lakewood, WA; granddaughter, Melanie (Isaac) Miller of East Wenatchee; grandson, Brian (Tamar) Burns of East Wenatchee; and his very special great-granddaughter, Alexa Burns of East Wenatchee. Walt is also survived by his two sisters, Kathleen (Harold) Martin of Tacoma and Wilma Gardner of Palm Desert, CA. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
