Description	:	Walter Wolt, 92, Bismarck, ND, died September 5, 2013, at Sanford Health. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Century Baptist Church in Bismarck with Rev. Curt Dikoff officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, and will continue on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Walter was born on October 6, 1920, south of Tappen, ND, in Kidder County, to Jacob and Katherina (Hauser) Wolt. He was born and raised on the family farm where his parents homesteaded and he attended rural school. Walter married Laurine Pfaff on February 20, 1944, in Jamestown, ND. They lived on the homestead and farmed until the summer of 1982. They retired and moved north of Bismarck, ND, until moving into the city in 1993. Laurine died on January 2, 2001, in Bismarck. Walter moved to Valley View Heights (where his brother Albert also lived) in May 2009 but required more care by that September and went to live at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Walter was a member of Faith Evangelical Church in Crystal Springs and served on the church board. After retirement, he became a member of Century Baptist Church in Bismarck. Living for the Lord Jesus was most important to Walter. He was honorably discharged from the National Guard, served on Tappen Public School Board, the Valley Township Board, and FHA Board. He loved farming and at one time received 1st place with Soil Conservation in Kidder County. Walter enjoyed visiting with everyone especially if coffee or cappuccino was included while they talked. Many hours Walter spent praying or singing to his Lord. He always looked forward to time spent with his family. Sharing candy with Trinity was a special highlight for him. Walter was deeply loved, respected and admired and will be dearly missed by his family and many good friends. He is survived by his son, Todd (Tammie) Wolt of Gardner, KS; his daughter, Shelley (Mike) Haas of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Aaron, Zachary, and Maya Wolt of Gardner, KS, Kristen (Kurtis) Countess of Tappen, ND, Rachel Haas of Sioux Falls, SD, and Rebecca Haas of Bismarck, ND; his great-granddaughter, Trinity Haas of Bismarck, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Laurine; his parents; six brothers, Adolph, Jack, Emil, Eddie, Emmanuel, and Albert Wolt; and three sisters, Mary Iszler, Martha Reuer, and Hillie Colbornson.
