Wanda was born April 25, 1928 in Hooper, NE to William and Alma (Starmer) Schultz. She came to Fremont as a child and attended school in Fremont and was a 1946 graduate of Fremont High School. Koziel, 89 years, of Fremont, NE died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. Wanda was born April 25, 1928 in Hooper, NE to William and Alma (Starmer) Schultz. She came to Fremont as a child and attended school in Fremont and was a 1946 graduate of Fremont High School. She was a lifelong resident of Fremont. Wanda married John Koziel August 19, 1950 in Fremont. John preceded her in death on December 20, 2005. She was an assistant manager at Arby’s in Fremont for many years. She loved to play cards and belonged to several card clubs. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Eagles Club both in Fremont. She is survived by daughter, Pam Koziel-Thomas and her husband, Greg Thomas of Omaha; and grandsons, Alex and Jared Thomas of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Jeffrey Koziel; brother, Roland Olson; and sisters, Bonnie Petty, Wealthy Rockwell, Avenele Mahoney, and Lucille Romans. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Visitation will be Friday from 4 PM – 8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
