Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Elm Creek United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jerry Schwarz officiating. Burial will be in Williamsburg Cemetery. Mrs. Marshall was born on September 7, 1928 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Grant V. and Pauline P. (Hall) Petet. She grew up and received her education at Berwyn until the 10th grade. Her family then moved to Elm Creek where she graduated from Elm Creek High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Basil O. Marshall on September 18, 1947 in Kearney. They made their home on the family farm in Williamsburg Township for 49 years. Wanda was a dedicated farm wife and mother. She also worked at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home for a number of years. In 1996 they moved to Kearney. Mr. Marshall preceded her in death on February 10, 2005. She was a member of Williamsburg Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women. As one of the founding members of the Williamsburg Coffee Club, she enjoyed weekly meetings with close friends and family for over 50 years. Wanda's hobbies included cooking, baking and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Roger Marshall of Wood River, and Lorry Marshall and his wife Marlene of Elm Creek; two daughters, Connie Stapleton and her husband Wayne of Ogden, KS and Cheryl Stone and her husband Lyle of Wilmington, OH; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Kale of Pasadena, CA; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Petet of Kearney, Lucretia Fisher of Portland, OR and Betty Williams of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Scott Marshall, a sister, Maxine Hohnholt and two brothers, Loren and Glen Petet.
