Description	:	CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Wanda Jean Robeson, 88, of Cherokee passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Countryside Estates in Cherokee. Services were 10 a.m. Saturday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. The Rev. Renee AuMiller officiated. Burial was in Sunset View Cemetery, Washta, Iowa. Wanda was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Washta, Iowa, to Merle and Martha (Kissinger) Beazley. She attended school in Washta until 1938 when she moved with her parents to California. Wanda was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Washta, Iowa, to Merle and Martha (Kissinger) Beazley. She attended school in Washta until 1938 when she moved with her parents to California. She attended school in Los Angeles and San Mateo. Her family moved back to Iowa in 1939 and she graduated from Washta in 1940. Again the family moved to California, where they lived in San Bruno, where she worked at Montgomery Wards and Bank of America. In 1946, they returned to Iowa where she was married to Norman Robeson on June 15, 1946, in Sioux City. The couple had one daughter, Joyce in 1949. Wanda worked at Baumann's Bakery, Coast to Coast and Lee's Hardware until she retired in 1987. She was a member of Washta Rebekah Lodge, Washta Study Club, U.M.W., Mary Circle, W.A.C., card club and the Washta Cemetery Association. She enjoyed cooking, music, dancing and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Joyce Kuhrts of Alta, Iowa; a sister, Lela Warner and her husband, Delmar of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Shirley Simon of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Eula Mae Best and her husband, Ralph of Oxford, Neb.; and brother-in-law, Frank "Junior" Robeson and his wife, Carla of Newton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Frank Robeson; mother-in-law, Elsie Robeson; stepmother-in-law, Myrtle Robeson; sisters-in-law, Peg Robeson, Helen Foss and Wanda Marie Robeson; and brothers-in-law, George Simon, Ivan Robeson and Judd Foss.
