Description	:	Wanda June Cowan, age 89, of Cincinnati, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center, Long Term Care in Centerville. Wanda was born in Centerville, Iowa on April 29, 1928, the daughter of Everett and Verna May (Hart) Coulson. She was united in marriage to Kermit Cowan on March 17, 1945 in Centerville. The couple celebrated many wonderful years together until Kermit's passing on November 16, 1995. Wanda was born in Centerville, Iowa on April 29, 1928, the daughter of Everett and Verna May (Hart) Coulson. She was united in marriage to Kermit Cowan on March 17, 1945 in Centerville. The couple celebrated many wonderful years together until Kermit's passing on November 16, 1995. Wanda enjoyed many hobbies throughout her lifetime, including gardening, spending time outdoors, and cooking for large social gatherings with family and friends. Wanda cherished the opportunity to take care of her family. Moreover, family was the driving force in her life and she wholeheartedly loved each and every family member, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Dennis Cowan of Cincinnati, Iowa, Kermitta Wilson of Elwood, Kansas, Dale (Gloria) Cowan of Queen City, Missouri, Doyle Cowan of Centerville, Iowa, and David (Jan) Cowan of Cincinnati, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, Tammy (Kevin) Poole, Brian (Haley) Cowan, Karen (Craig) Bowman, Dana Cowan, Darrell Cowan, Lyndy (Jason) Lamm, Jason (Kami) Wilson, Jeff (Bree) Wilson, Kim (Chris) Schultz, Kevin (Michelle) Cowan, Kristina Cowan, Kara (Dusty) Dickerson, Keisha Cowan, Zac (Maddy) Cowan, and Zeth Cowan; twenty six great grandchildren; nine great, great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Gene Cowan of Unionville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Coulson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Margie McCarthy of Omaha, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Alfreda Cowan Dover of Unionville, Missouri; as well as several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kermit; three children, Darwin, Darrell, and David William Cowan; an infant grandson, Kyle Cowan; a great, great grandson, Charles Coffman; two siblings, Clifford Coulson and Olive Wells; and two daughters-in-law, Patricia Cowan, and Chris Cowan. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Kevin Poole officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Memorials have been established to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville ,Iowa, 52544.
