Wanda June Nelson, daughter of Herman and Blanche (Seeley) Nelson was born on November 15, 1928. She graduated from Platte High School. On January 7, 1954 she was united in married to Rex Allen Sly. They lived and farmed near Platte, where she was a homemaker raising their three daughters together until his death in 1968. Wanda June Nelson, daughter of Herman and Blanche (Seeley) Nelson was born on November 15, 1928. She graduated from Platte High School. On January 7, 1954 she was united in married to Rex Allen Sly. They lived and farmed near Platte, where she was a homemaker raising their three daughters together until his death in 1968. In November of 1972 she married William "Bill" Cooper, they were later divorced. Wanda married John Plummer of Maine in November of 1983. After marriage they divided their time between Platte, Maine and Florida. John passed away in March of 1999. Wanda was a member of the Olive Presbyterian Church and enjoyed golfing and bowling. Grateful for having shared in Wanda's life: 2 daughters: Dawn (Gary) Johnson of Platte, SD and Rexanne (Dave) Thuringer of Mitchell, SD; a son-in-law, Mike (Elonda) Wynia of Yankton, SD; 9 grandchildren: Lance (Laurie) Johnson, Pat (April) Johnson of Spearfish, SD, Chris Johnson and special friend, Khrissy Beuttner of Norfolk, NE, Renee Johnson of Rapid City, SD, Dava (Mat) Wermers of Mitchell, SD, Matt (Tani) Thuringer of N. Las Vegas, NV, Sarah Thuringer of Minneapolis, MN, Jeremy (Katie) Wynia of Wayne, NE and Eric (Sarah) Wynia of Wasua, NE ; 14 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by: her husbands; a daughter, Karn Wynia; her parents and an adopted brother, Joe.
