Description	:	Wanda Mae (Schneidermann) Johnson was born July 13, 1937, the youngest of six children to Tom and Jesse (Krull) Schneidermann of Sibley, IA. She put her faith and trust in Jesus at the age of 9 during Tent Meetings at George, IA. She attended country school Holman#15, from Kindergarden-8th grade and graduated in 1955 from Ashton Public High School. Read More	Wanda Mae (Schneidermann) Johnson was born July 13, 1937, the youngest of six children to Tom and Jesse (Krull) Schneidermann of Sibley, IA. She put her faith and trust in Jesus at the age of 9 during Tent Meetings at George, IA. She attended country school Holman#15, from Kindergarden-8th grade and graduated in 1955 from Ashton Public High School. She attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis, MN for four years receiving her BA degree. On April 15, 1960 Wanda was united in marriage to Arlyn Johnson. They farmed in the George area for 55 plus years. In September 2010 they purchased and moved into their home in George, although Arlyn’s heart was still in farming and continues to farm with his son as long as he is able. Wanda enjoyed living in town. She still took meals out to the field for the men during planting and harvesting and ran errands for the men when needed. Wanda was active in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of George. She was the first AWANA Commander, 1977-1987. She also served as the WMF President on several different occasions. Teaching Sunday School and helping out with Daily Vacation Bible School was also one of her joys. In January of 1991 she became the first church secretary. A position she enjoyed and held until May of 2001. In 1996 she and Arlyn began going to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas for the winter months. There they became involved in the church and the many activities offered by the Alamo Palms Park where they resided while in TX. Filling gallons of happiness for the Spanish children and collecting pop can tabs for the Spanish women who used them for making purses, belts and many items to sell at local craft shows. They considered many of the friends they made while there as an extended Family. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Arlyn, two daughters Karna Anderson and husband Scott of New Brighton, MN, Karlene Grosch and husband Tim of Apex, NC. One son Kory and wife Abbie of George. Seven grandchildren, Jordan Anderson, Natalie Terhark and husband Kyle, Silas Grosch and wife Megan, Sierra Grosch, three step grandchildren, Georgia, Eli & Beau Van Essen. One sister-in-law Marilyn Schneidermann, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jesse Schneidermann, sisters Helen Dreesen, Janet Schneidermann and three brothers, Harm, Floyd, and Kriene. Jurrens Funeral Home George, Iowa
