Description	:	Wanda Mae Johnson, 94, of Clear Lake, South Dakota died October 29, 2017 at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 1st at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. Visitation will be 5 to 7pm on Tuesday, October 31st at the Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake. The Reverend Hans Sacrison will officiate. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake will follow. Wanda Mae (Street) Johnson was born to Roy Franklin and Margaret (Holloway) Street on February 14, 1923, in a farmhouse four miles from Revillo. She attended elementary and high school in Revillo and graduated in 1940. She then attended South Dakota State College and earned a Medical Technology Degree. She worked at a Fargo, N.D. hospital for two years before marrying Albert W. Johnson on September 20, 1945. The couple farmed near Clear Lake, from 1945 to 1978. After leaving the farm, they moved to Clear Lake and enjoyed winters in Mesa, Arizona for many years. Albert died August 9, 2000. Wanda loved horses and took part in trail rides, parades and performed with the Toronto Saddle Club Drill Team. Wanda was a talented musician and played the violin organ and guitar. She was active in Extension Club and Ladies Aid at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She loved gardening, camping and roller skated into adulthood. She played bridge both in Clear Lake and Arizona. She was preceded in death by an infant son Gary Lynn; husband, Albert; sister, Imo Gene Loehrer; grand-daughter Karmen Michelle Best. The family prefers Memorials to be sent to Deuel County 4-H Horse projects.
