Read More	Wanda O (Smith) Johnson November 2, 1938 ~ November 11, 2020 (age 82) Obituary Wanda Opal Johnson, age 82, of Seymour, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon after a brief fight against Covid-19. She was born on November 2, 1938 in Decatur County, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Opal (Bennett) Smith. Wanda was united in marriage to Steven Johnson Sr. on December 19, 1956 and to this union of marriage, the couple were blessed with three children, Steven Jr. “Skip”, Angela “Angel” and Robert. Wanda and Steven Sr. celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage until his passing on July 27, 2015. Wanda held various jobs throughout her lifetime. Her longest tenured job came in the groundskeeping department with Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. She maintained this position for nearly twenty years. In the early 1980s Wanda made the decision to return to high school to finish her diploma. She graduated in 1985 from Liberty Academy in South Sioux City, Nebraska, attending high school classes with her son Steven Jr. Wanda enjoyed many passions in life, including playing games, reading and baking-especially Christmas goodies. Most importantly, she cherished her family and loved spending time with them. Left to honor her memory include her three children, Steven “Skip” Johnson Jr. of Seymour, Iowa, Angela “Angel” and husband Kevin Wilde of McLoud, Oklahoma, and Robert Johnson of Centerville, Iowa; five grandchildren- Jacob, Dusty, Brian, Katrina “Katie” and Cherokee; seven great grandchildren- soon to be eight; three sisters, Jacquelin Selby of Seymour, Iowa, Anna Waits of Seymour, Iowa, and Marjorie Housh of Centerville, Iowa; two brothers, Robert (Sheryl) Smith of Dexter, Minnesota and Donald (Judy) Smith of Ripley, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Sylvia) Johnson of Dixon, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Opal Smith; her loving husband, Steven L. Johnson Sr; a brother, Leland; and five sisters, Virginia, Clara “Sis,” Betty, Phyllis “Jean” and Beverly “Jody.” Celebration of Life services will be held at Seymour Community Center on Tuesday, November 17 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, an open memorial has been established and may either be mailed to Steven Johnson at 203 E. Main St., Seymour, Iowa, 52590 or to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory: 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
