Description	:	Wanda Ruth Holscher, 87, of Lake Stevens Washington, passed on to heaven with her family at her side on Saturday May 2, 2015 while in hospice care at Everett Providence Hospital. She was born July 23, 1927 in Custer South Dakota while her family traveled the west working. Wanda and family grew up in Emporia Kansas. Read More	Wanda Ruth Holscher, 87, of Lake Stevens Washington, passed on to heaven with her family at her side on Saturday May 2, 2015 while in hospice care at Everett Providence Hospital. She was born July 23, 1927 in Custer South Dakota while her family traveled the west working. Wanda and family grew up in Emporia Kansas. After completing her schooling she was working at the Emporia Bus Depot when she met Leo Robert Holscher as he was returning from the war. They married on October 17, 1947 and lived in Wichita Kansas for most of the next 20 years, where they raised 2 sons and 2 daughters. In June of 1967 Wanda, Leo and the kids moved to Lake Stevens Washington where Leo had taken a job at the then new Everett Boeing 747 Plant. She worked for Dant & Russell Export in Everett for many years and Seattle Snohomish Mill until retirement. Over the years she enjoyed her flower gardens, canning and freezing fresh vegetables, her and Leo were accomplished square dancers and she was a member of the Marysville Church of the Nazarene. However, her passion in life was her children and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren growing up. She attended their school and sporting events and especially looked forward to holidays and each of their special events. Wanda is preceded in death by her father and mother Frank & Zona Knapp of Emporia Kansas, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leo Robert Holscher, of Lake Stevens WA; an older sister, Evelyn Ball of Nampa ID, and a younger sister Janice Wright of Frankfort Kansas; her sons Gary {Kathy}of Yakima, Ron of Marysville, and daughters Linda Broome {Dean} and Carol Broome {Dave} both of Lake Stevens. She had nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the caring and compassionate nursing staff and hospice care at the Everett Providence Hospital, Colby campus. A family graveside service will be held this week, and a Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 2 p.m., at the Marysville Church of the Nazarene, 8240 64th Street NE, Marysville, WA 98270, 360-659-4629.
