Description	:	WANDALENE BOOHER LOCKETT, age 92 of Sidney, IA died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Ambassador in Sidney following a brief illness. Wandalene, daughter of Mary Elizabeth (White) Booher and Paul Booher, was born on February 20, 1925 in Taylor County, Iowa near Athelston. Early school years were in a one room Country School. While in fourth grade, the family moved to Sidney, IA. During her Junior and Senior years of high school she worked at the local telephone exchange as an operator from 3 to 11 PM. Read More	WANDALENE BOOHER LOCKETT, age 92 of Sidney, IA died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Ambassador in Sidney following a brief illness. Wandalene, daughter of Mary Elizabeth (White) Booher and Paul Booher, was born on February 20, 1925 in Taylor County, Iowa near Athelston. Early school years were in a one room Country School. While in fourth grade, the family moved to Sidney, IA. During her Junior and Senior years of high school she worked at the local telephone exchange as an operator from 3 to 11 PM. Graduating in 1943, Wandalene worked as a Legal Stenographer for Eaton and Mauk, Attorneys at Law and Geo. P. Gilbert Insurance, leaving in 1945. She married 1st Lt. Herschel Lockett and they resided in Childress, TX where he was an Instructor in the Bombardier Flight School. Wandalene went back to work in 1957 typing abstracts for Pearl and Gene Stiles. She then completed almost 16 years as Head Price Support Clerk for the USDA at the ASC Office. She then retired in 1990 after 14 years at the Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah, IA. Wandalene is survived by 4 children: Suzanne McCalla of Overland Park, KS, Kathy Jo Lockett of Carrolton, TX, Mary Frances Thompson of Sidney, IA and Dean Edward Lockett of Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Paul Levi Booher and Vongene Booher; and her husband, Herschel Myron Lockett. Graveside services for the interment of ashes will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Sidney, IA Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation and memorials will go to the Fremont County Historical Society or the Parkinson's Foundation. There will be a Celebration of Life with refreshments and DVD viewing following the graveside at the Gathering Place, 800 Ohio Street in Sidney. The Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA is in charge of arrangements.
