Read More	W E PADGET Wondo Emerson Padget the son of Gilbert and Effie Padget was born September 6, 1907, and departed this life June 27, 1942, at the age of 34 years, 9 months, and 21 days. He was united in marriage to Aleene Fite August 27, 1929. To this union two children were born, a daughter Marlus Jean and a son Bernie Ray. He is survived by his wife and two children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Padget of Floris; three sisters, Mrs. Trilby Johnson and Mrs. Cleo Patterson, both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Fern Prevo of Floris; two brothers, Roscoe and Maynard of Ottumwa; an aged grandparent James Padget of Bloomfield; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister and two grandmothers and one grandfather. He was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1930 and in 1932 he was called to the ministry. He spent the last 10 years in the ministry, traveling extensively throughout the central west in evangelistic work. Much of his time was spent in opening up closed churches, as well as opening up new churches. He had recently pastored the church at Pittsburg, Iowa, going there from Keosauqua, where he founded the Calvary Chapel Church of which he was pastor at the time of his death. To these things he devoted his time and this was the desire of his life. The body was taken from the Community funeral parlors to the Pentacostal Church on Church Street at noon where services were held at 1:30pm Monday June 29th by the Rev. R. L. Selex and assisted by the Rev. A. D. McClure. Burial was made in the Money Cemetery, seven miles east of Floris. Pallbearers were Clarence Gail, Sherman Goodwin, Harold Ware, George King, Raymond Howels, and Virgil Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Leo Simmons of Bloomfield, Raymond Murphy of Cantril, Rev. Kenneth Ross of Batavia, the Rev. Everett Stuffelbeam of Drakesville, Rev. A. L. Worth and Rev. Trenton Stanton of Ottumwa. Music was furnished by Mrs. Sam Barker and daughter, Darlene, and Mrs. Russell Selex and Mrs. Homer Atteberry.
