Read More	World War II Veteran Warren (Andy) Christian Andresen passed away early Tuesday morning, June 24, 2014 at 2:00 a.m., at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Andy was born in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa on May 11, 1920 to Peter Christian Andresen and Bernice Cleone Marshall. Andy has been a resident of Richland, Washington since he moved here in 1976. He was a long-time member of the Tri-Cities Genealogical Society and the Church of Christ. He loved to volunteer at the local Humane Society and was a genealogist, an avid camera enthusiast, and a stamp collector. After his retirement, he also loved to travel in his 30-foot Argosy trailer and was able to visit every state, except Alaska, and most of Canada. Andy attended Clinton High School for five years before he went to Iowa State College at Ames, Iowa. Prior to completing his degree, he was drafted into World War II and became a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps where he worked as radar technician. He spent more than four years in the European Theater before receiving an honorable discharge on November 3, 1945. Following his time in the service, he attended and graduated from Tri State College at Angola, Indiana. While there, he met and married Susannah Rose Sims on June 16, 1946 at Angola Baptist Church. They had three children, Pamela Sue Andresen, Larry Christian Andresen, and David Lee Andresen. He divorced Susannah in 1967 and then met and married Beverly Alberta Christian (Vernier) on April 20, 1968 in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1976, Andy and Beverly moved to Richland, Washington, where he worked for Westinghouse at the Fast Flux Text Facility and Washington Public Power Plants, along with Raytheon Corp, before retiring in 1984. On September 19, 1994, he lost one of his sons, Larry, to a brain tumor, on February 2, 1996, he lost his second wife, Beverly, and later that year, on June 27, 1996, his first wife, Susannah, passed away. While helping at the local Family History Center, he met Phyllis Caryol (Kelly) Parsons and married her at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 13, 1999. During the summer of 2003, Andy decided to be re-baptized at the Richland Baptist Church, where he was a regular member. Andy and Phyllis were divorced on August 12, 2011. His daughter, Pamela Sue Andresen, and son, David Lee Andresen, survive Andy, along with one grandson, Erik David Andresen. He is preceded in death by Peter Christian Andresen and Bernice Cleone Marshall, along with one of his sons, Larry Christian Andresen, his first wife, Susannah Rose Sims, and his second wife, Beverly Alberta Christian. Per Andy's wishes, his remains will be cremated and buried along side his mother and father at Springdale Cemetery in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa.
