Moore, 81, who died Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, where he had lived since 1983, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the IVH Chapel. The Rev. Jack B . Maulden will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown. Friends may call at the Mason-Hand Funeral Home, Tama, until 10 a.m. Wednesday and then after 12:45 p.m. at the Veterans Home Chapel. He was born Nov. 28, 1905 north of Green Mountain to Roy and Jessie Whited Moore. He attended Marshalltown schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Feb. 24, 1932, Warren married Maxine Ann Harris in Marshalltown. Eight months later, early in the morning of Oct. 28 at St. Thomas Mercy Hospital, Maxine gave birth to a baby girl who died shortly afterwards due to "asphyxia of newborn". The young marriage wasn't able to withstand the stress and Warren and Maxine were divorced shortly afterwards. In November 1955 he married Grace Hannon Cooper in Austin Minn. They lived in Marshalltown where he operated Warren Moore Plumbing and Heating Service until he retired in 1970. He was a member of the Frank Lewis Post 46 of the American Legion in Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Survivors include three stepsons, Cecil Cooper, Ottumwa, Donald Cooper, Simi Valley, Calif., and Lowell Cooper, Tama; two stepdaughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Richard Davison, Burlington, and Marilyn Langner, Mount Pleasant,p; three sisters, Buelah Buckwald and Edna (Mrs. Ergan) Britson, both of Marshalltown, and Dorothy (Mrs. Earl) Lemke, Newton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. obituary courtesy of Find A Grave contributor Swanlin
