Larson, the son of Ed and Lydia (Gustafson) Larson, was born in Phelps County, Nebraska, on December 31, 1914, and died at Hastings, Nebraska, following a lingering illness, on February 28, 1995, at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 27 days. He grew up and received his education in Phelps County, Nebraska. As a young man he was a farm hand, and he enjoyed farming and trucking. While picking corn in Minnesota he met Eileen Hugoson, whom he married on September 27, 1941, at the Evangelical Free Church in East Chain, Minnesota, where they were members. Warren served his country during World War 2 in the 791st MP Battalion, and was discharged in November of 1942. After his discharge he farmed in Minnesota, and in 1951, they moved to a farm in Hamilton County, Nebraska. He and his wife owned and operated Larson's Restaurant in Aurora for 10 years. After his retirement, he worked part time hauling anhydrous ammonia for the Aurora Co-op. Warren was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Free Church, and belonged to the Lester S. Harter Post #42, of the Aurora American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Jerrold, a sister Helen Ek, and a son-in-law Gerald Miller. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Eileen of Aurora; one daughter Cindy Bryan and her husband Ron of Harvard; 2 grandsons, Peter Miller, who lived with them since he was 3 years old, and John Bryan; one brother Winston Larson and his wife Mary of Holdrege; 2 sisters, Hazel Edgren of Holdrege and Virginai Jahn and her husband Phil of Grand Island; a brother-in-law Reuben Ek of Grand Island, and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
