Description	:	YORK — Warren J. Rathje, 71, of York died Friday, July 17, 2015, in Lincoln. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in York, with the Rev. Dr. Heath Trampe and the Rev. Art Schauer officiating. Burial will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Metz Mortuary in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Rathje was born Sept. 20, 1943, in York to John and Verla (Roehrs) Rathje. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Damon Anderson of Grand Island and Ann and Jess Spotanski of Seward; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Doris Rathje of York; and a sister, Shirley Speer of Lincoln. His grandchildren include Brady Anderson of Grand Island, Macie Spotanski of Seward and Isaac Spotanski, also of Seward. Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Warren was a diesel mechanic at Welch Implement in York for many years before joining the York Public Schools system as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. A current member of Faith Lutheran Church in York, Warren enjoyed camping, playing cards, was an avid Husker fan, but, most of all, he loved being around his family, especially his children and grandchildren. On March 24, 1973, he was married to Judy Sanburg in York. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judy.
