Witt, son of William and Reakyetta Freidcka Henryetta "Reaky" (Ellerbruch) Witt, was born June 2, 1927, on the family farm near the community of Kemma, Nebraska northeast of Creighton, Nebraska. Witt, son of William and Reakyetta Freidcka Henryetta "Reaky" (Ellerbruch) Witt, was born June 2, 1927, on the family farm near the community of Kemma, Nebraska northeast of Creighton, Nebraska. Warren died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Plainview Manor in Plainview, Nebraska. Warren was baptized at an early age in the Lutheran Faith, and was later confirmed on April 2, 1944. He attended rural school near the family home, and graduated from Creighton (NE.) High School with the Class of 1944. After receiving his education, Warren farmed the home place with his older brother, Albert. On January 16, 1946, Warren was inducted into the United States Army. He served for a little over one year before receiving his Honorable Discharge on April 16, 1947. After serving his country, Warren returned to his beloved farm near Kemma, Nebraska which would remain his home for the rest of his life. On June 10, 1953, he was married to Marceline Frank of Creighton, Nebraska at Christ Lutheran Church in Bazile Mills, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with four children: Wanda, Linda, Patty, and Bill. Warren and Marceline raised their family and farmed. They were hard workers, and farmed over 1000 acres, at a time when tending to that amount of farm ground was something accomplished by only a few people. Warren loved working with his John Deere tractors and equipment, and although not currently farming, his interest in working the land and agriculture was evident in the beautiful flower beds and gardens he took so much pride in during his later years. As working on the ground level became more difficult, Warren built elaborate raised-beds for his flowers and garden. Despite his recent health struggles in the past year, Warren and Marceline built a year-round, terrarium garden using an old deepfreeze and discarded storm windows, and found much enjoyment watching their "crops" grow. Warren was a member of the American Legion Post #74 of Creighton, and a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church of Bazile Mills, Nebraska where he had served on the Church Board for many years. When not farming, Warren and Marceline mowed yards around the area for over 20 years, and were currently cleaning the offices at Creighton (NE.) Livestock Market; a job they had done together for many years. In his free time, Warren enjoyed fishing, hunting, and visiting with people around the area. No one was a stranger around Warren; his outgoing personality and interest in people was the inspiration for many conversations during his lifetime, and the beginning of countless friendships. But Warren's greatest love was his family. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was always eager to share their accomplishments with anyone. He was so proud of them all; his wife and family were his entire world. Warren will be missed by all who knew and loved him so much. Warren is survived by: wife of 60 years, Marceline Witt of Creighton, Nebraska; daughter, Wanda (husband Charles) Mecke of Creighton, Nebraska and their children, Keith Mecke of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and Kyle Mecke of Creighton, Nebraska; daughter, Linda (husband Gary) Hamilton of Plainview, Nebraska and their children, Brandon (wife Lacey) Hamilton (children Maelee and Sadie) of Pierce, Nebraska, Shane (wife Brenda) Hamilton (son, Mason) of Valentine, Nebraska, and Caitlin (husband Colter) Mozak and son Aiden Hamilton of Plainview, Nebraska; daughter, Patty (husband Dave) Geiger of Creighton, Nebraska, and their children, Rebecca (husband Christopher) Fischer (daughter, Scarlett) of Pierce, Nebraska, and Bridget (husband Joe) Hall (son Henry) of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Bill (wife Deb) Witt of Rosalie, Nebraska, and their children, Tiffany Witt of Omaha, Deanna Witt of Norfolk, Nebraska, Anthony Ruzicka of Scribner, Nebraska, and Colten Ruzicka of Lyons, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Melfred (wife Stazy) Frank of Creighton, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Darlene Matson of Mitchell, South Dakota nd a host of family and friends. Warren was preceded in death by: parents, William and Reaky Witt; brothers, Albert and George (in infancy) Witt and sister (and husband), Laura and Charlie Wenke. Burial was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Knox County, Nebraska.
