Read More	Warren J Fisher Special to the Union (Manchester Union) Warren J Fisher Prominent Resident of Woodsville Dies at North Haverhill, NH Warren J Fisher, one of the oldest resident of this town, died at his residence in the village of North Haverhill, NH late yesterday afternoon. Mr Fisher was born at Springfield, the son of Seth & Polly Fisher, in the year 1830. He received his education in the common schools of Springfield. He came to this town in the fall of 1851, where he engaged in railroad construction and bridge building for the Boston, Concord, and Montreal railroad until 1858. Mr. Fisher had the contract for the stone work for the first toll bridge spanning the Connecticut river where the present bridge now stands, and buttments he put in place in the early fifties are still doing duty under the present bridge, although the original bridge, being of wooded structure, became unsafe and was removed and a new iron one was put on to take its place. From 1860 to 1875 Mr. Fisher was engaged quite extensively in buying cattle and sheep for market. In 1868 he married Harriet A. Morse, the daughter of John C. and Nancy W. Morse of Haverhill, who died in 1872. Five years later he married Louise H. Bedell of Bath, a sister of the late Gen. John Bedell. She died March 31, 1896. Feb. 2, 1898, he married for the third time, Abbie Bishop of Lisbon, who survives him. From 1860 to 1900 he owned and operated one of the largest farms on the Connecticut river, which was located at Horse Meadow. In 1901, he sold his farm and build a residence at North Haverhill, where he spent his last years. Mr. Fisher politically, was always a staunch Republican. The funeral will take place from his late residence, Saturday at 2 o'clock, the Rev. C.E. Eaton officiating. SOURCE: Peter Giroux (#49085837)
