Born Nov. 2, 1932, in Peru, he was the son of the late Walter Mendenhall and Ina K. (Cheever) Mendenhall. He was a graduate of Oley Township in Miami County. Mendenhall, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. Born Nov. 2, 1932, in Peru, he was the son of the late Walter Mendenhall and Ina K. (Cheever) Mendenhall. He was a graduate of Oley Township in Miami County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. On Sept. 18, 1961, in Kokomo, he married Rosemary Jean (Crispen). She preceded him death May 24, 2016. He was employed at Delco Electronics for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 292. He also enjoyed driving, as he did for What-A-Deal Motors for eight years. Survivors include one son, Gary Boyd (Jane Ann) Mendenhall, Kokomo; one brother, Norman Mendenhall, Kokomo; one grandson, Jonathan Warren Mendenhall; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be noon Friday Dec. 23, 2016, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. Pastor Kerry Williams will officiate. Entombment with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Sunset Memory Garden.
