Description	:	Mr. Warren A. Polmanteer, age 87 years, of Holts Summit, Missouri, died Sunday, September 20, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center. Warren was born October 22, 1921, in Van Buren County, Michigan the son of Orville and Helen Daniels Polmanteer. He was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice and by five brothers, Leo, Lu, Lyle, Lynn and Grant. He was the youngest. Warren was born October 22, 1921, in Van Buren County, Michigan the son of Orville and Helen Daniels Polmanteer. He was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice and by five brothers, Leo, Lu, Lyle, Lynn and Grant. He was the youngest. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Signal Corps during World War II. He was married on April 26, 1947, in Allegany County, Michigan to Pearl M. Pendergraft who preceded him in death on February 25, 1990. A resident of the central Missouri area for the past 55 years, Warren had a degree in electrical engineering. A great career followed; he worked with W.T.V.J. in Miami, Florida, W.O.O.D. Television in Grand Rapids, Michigan as Assistant Chief until 1954. At the age of 32, he accepted the same position with K.R.C.G. Television Station in central Missouri. He was instrumental in the construction and technical set up of this new station. He was also the color expert. He became Chief in 1967, retiring in 1985. In 1972 Warren was asked by the Great Rivers Council to start the First Explorers Organization in this area. Leaving the Boy Scouts as an Eagle Scout in youth, he knew the importance of solid stepping stones as a foundation for life's journey. He enjoyed membership with the E.A.A., E.L.P.A., Professional Broadcast Engineers Association, Meadow Lake Acres Country Club and others. After retirement, he played golf at every opportunity. He became an avid computer researcher in aviation, health and finance among other subjects. Due to his devout love of life, he shared all he had with family and friends. He was a most compassionate caring gentleman toward creatures large and small. Aviation was a passion. He loved flying or anything related. He was a licensed pilot. Warren was active in politics and fascinated with inventing. He owned a bright yellow scooter which he joyfully rode around town. Warren leaves a legacy of good deeds for which many are grateful. He made a positive difference. Survivors include: four nephews, Bill Hamilton of Schoolcraft, Michigan, David Hamilton of Hereford, Arizona, Don Hamilton (Binky) of Marcellus, Michigan, and Steve Hamilton of Parchment, Michigan; two nieces, Judy Little of High Springs, Florida and Katherine Burkhart of Chester, New Jersey; and one sister-in-law, Juanita Burkhart of Chester, New Jersey. His chosen family include, Bruce Rogers and Kathy Carew of Holts Summit, Missouri and Marlana Ruth Jones Hatch and Norman Hatch of Columbus, Ohio.
