Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. David Frerichs and Rev. Mary Avidano officiating. Warren Rhea Olson, son of Emfrey L. and Elsie L. (Martinson) Olson, was born May 27, 1937 at Spencer, NE. He was baptized on June 26, 1937 at Fairfax, SD and confirmed on October 1, 1950 at Messiah Lutheran (Baker) Church. Growing up, he lived east of Fairfax, SD and attended a rural school. On October 9, 1955, Warren was united in marriage to Etta Mae Wells at Messiah Lutheran (Baker) Church. They made their home in Yankton, SD, where he worked on the Niobrara Dam and Gavins Point Dam until 1958, when they moved to St. Edward. Warren farmed northeast of St. Edward most of his life. In 2011, they moved to Albion. Warren’s favorite pastimes were farming, raising cattle, and mostly sharing his love with his wife, children and grandchildren. Warren is survived by his wife Etta Mae; nine children: Monty (Jane) Olson of St. Edward; Monica (Steve) Heesacker of Humphrey; Marc Olson of Ravenna; Milton Olson; and Michelle (Terry) Merten all of Albion; Michael Olson and friend Melissa Clark of Shelby; Max (Starr) Olson of St. Edward; Melinda (Denny) Johnson; and Melissia (Pat) Nissen, all of Albion; 30 grandchildren: Andrea, Andrew, Adam, Amanda, Anthony, Austin, Avery, Ashleigh, Amber, Bryce, Holden, Garret, Hannah, Seth, Elih, Macy, Mariah, Taylor, Ty, Travis, Dillon, Dakota, Brayden, Emma, Alexa, Blayr, Cabre, Zachery, Wyatt and Linnea; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Donald Olson of Burke, SD; Norman Olson of Pickstown, SD; Lorin (Karen) Olson of Sunset, SC; and sister-in-law: Barbara Olson of Pickstown, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Clifford and Lala Wells, a brother Conrad Olson and a brother-in-law Bob Wells.
