The Daily Republic (Mitchell, South Dakota) 8 Sep 1960, Thur page 1 Rites Held At Iroquois For Wayne Wiles IROQUOIS—Funeral services for Wayne Wiles, 18, who died Sept. 12 in Sioux Falls, were held Sept, 15, at St. Paul's Catholic church, Iroquois, with the Rev. Fr. O'Brien officiating. Pallbearers were: Thad Rogers, Robert Laposky, Allen Aughenbaugh, Larry DeJong, Ray Oles, and Terry Walters. Wiles, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wiles, was born Sept. 26, 1941, in Fullerton, Calif., where he lived until moving with his family, October of 1948, to Belle Prairie Township, southwest of Iroquois. He attended rural school there, and later in Iroquois He was a member of the Iroquois High School graduating class of 1959. He attended General Beadle, Madison, one year, and had just enrolled for his sophomore year. Wiles was active in all sports and music while in school. In his senior year of high school, he was given the honor of most outstanding music student for his four years of music participation. He was a member of Beadle REA band, and for five years was a member of the Iroquois City and school band. He was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church choir, and also was interested in Boy Scout activities. Surviving, besides his parents are two sisters; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jens Christensen, Iroquois, and Mellie Rounds, Rapid City.
