Description	:	SOUTHARD, Wayne A., 59, of Mechanicsville, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey A. Southard; mother, Mary K. Harris; and sister, Donna Southard. Family left to cherish his memory include his wife, Melanie T. Southard; children, Ashley Baum (Caleb), Russell (Rusty) Southard (Whitney), Jessica Williams (Dan), Craig Southard (Sarah); grandchildren, JB, Wyatt, Rylee, Paislee, Lucas, Alexander, Rachel and Nicholas; sister, Sharon Ellett (Jay); and many nieces and nephews. Harris; and sister, Donna Southard. Family left to cherish his memory include his wife, Melanie T. Southard; children, Ashley Baum (Caleb), Russell (Rusty) Southard (Whitney), Jessica Williams (Dan), Craig Southard (Sarah); grandchildren, JB, Wyatt, Rylee, Paislee, Lucas, Alexander, Rachel and Nicholas; sister, Sharon Ellett (Jay); and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was hardworking and dedicated to his career. He thoroughly enjoyed being a truck driver and loved the freedom of the open road. He enjoyed technology and working with his hands. And yes, he loved gaming and was quite good at it! Wayne was a devoted husband and loved his wife of many years deeply with his whole heart. He enjoyed his role as "Papa" and cherished time with his grandchildren. He was happiest in the company of family. He found joy in gardening and building projects with his children, as well as spending time at the river boating, fishing and crabbing. He always looked forward to family vacations. The family wishes to offer heartfelt thanks to James River Hospice for their loving care of Wayne. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Passion Community Church (PCC), 4480 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, Va. 23139.
