Description	:	Wayne E. Richardson, 64, of 805 E. Anson St., died Saturday, March 2, after a lengthy illness. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Murtaugh, pastor of Central Christian Church, and the Rev. Herbert. Gould, pastor of the Iowa River Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Gould, pastor of the Iowa River Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Born Dec. 2, 1926 in Marshalltown, Mr. Richardson was the son of Ralph and Olive Speas Richardson. He was reared and educated near Gilman, graduating from Gilman High School in 1944. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1944-46. After completing his military service, he attended Iowa State University. On Dec. 14, 1947, at the Ferguson Christian Church, he was married to Viola Cory and they farmed for several years in Marshalltown and Grundy counties. From 1969 to 1988, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, prior to retirement. Mr. Richardson was a lifetime member of the Ferguson Christian Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon and an elder. Since 1985, he had attended Central Christian Church where he served as a deacon. He also was a past master of Marshall Lodge 108, AF&AM, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Marshalltown High Twelve organizations, the American Legion, and did volunteer work for the Marshall County Food Box Agency. Preceding him in death were his parents. Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Beverly (Mrs. Larry) Burg of Marshalltown, a son, Wesley Richardson of Montour, a brother, Virgil Richardson of Marshalltown, and five grandchildren. from Marshalltown IA newspaper Times Republican dated March 4 1991
