Mr. Hiner was born April 7, 1916, at Murray to William J. and Lettie (Parker) Hiner. He graduated from Plattsmouth High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Bertrice Longwith July 6, 1936, at Papillion. He was an electrician at Schuyler Electric and the Schuyler Department of Utilities until his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and International Order of Odd Fellows, all of Schuyler. Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Brooks of Lincoln; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife February 17, 1998; one brother, Ralph; and two sisters, Katherine and Jessie. [Submitted by Tami]
