(Doc) Lawson, 80, of 235 Sixth St. S.E. who died Saturday at Tulsa, Okla., will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Martin's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Flannery officiating. Burial will be in the St. Martin's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John and William Weeldryer, Dan and Greg Young, Andrew Dawson and Steven Young. Lawson was born Nov. 28, 1896, at Wakonda to Thomas and Lena Lawson. He grew up in the Crandall-Turton area. He served in World War I. He was married to Emma L. Barrie, Oct. 18, 1927, at Turton. They moved to Huron after their marriage and he was employed by the railroad and later was a mechanic for the City of Huron for several years. In 1950 he started carpentering and retired in 1973. He was a member of St. Martin's Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Sybil) Weeldryer, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. David (Darlene) Young, Minneapolis, Mrs. John (Shirley) Young, Norfolk, Neb.; two sons, Barrie W., Brooklyn, N.Y. and Don A., Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
