Funeral services for Wayne McClure were held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 13th, 1999, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Rev. Ronald Van Heukelom, Pastor of the Malcom Presbyterian Church, officiated and the organist was Marilyn Kriegel. Honorary Casket-Bearers were Deane Casey, Edison Sharp, Don Griffith, Ward Puls and Sonny Schneekloth. Wayne Melvin McClure, son of William McClure and Elizabeth Moses McClure, was born September 25, 1917, near Malcom, Iowa, and died Monday, May 10, 1999, in his home in Malcom, Iowa. Wayne was a graduate of the Malcom High School. Wayne served with the U S Army from Nov. 13, 1941 to Nov. 14, 1945. He served in Northern France. After serving in the Army he was in livestock trucking business and farmed. On September 9, 1974, he was married to Lillian Margaret Lippincott at Elkader, Iowa. The made their home at Malcom. Wayne was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Malcom; Lily Lodge # 254 AF & AM; Eastern Star and Francis Gallagher American Legion Post #294 of Brooklyn. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Catherine Cumings and Ruth Stewart; and a half brother, Raymond McClure. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; a step son, Jim Bacon of Quinlan, Texas; a step daughter, Bonnie Wiley of Quinlan, Texas; 3 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren.
