Description	:	AREA MAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT Wayne O. Gilstrap, 42, Neosho route 1, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John's Medical Center about 3:30 p.m. Monday where he was taken after being injured in an accident south of Joplin. Jasper County Coroner Wendell Fuhr ruled the death accidental. Investigating officers said Gilstrap had been cutting down a tree when a large branch apparently fell on him. Coroner Fuhr said Gilstrap died from back and chest injuries. The accident occurred on Beef Ranch (sic Branch) south of Joplin. His body was found by two nephews who had been working nearby. Mr. Gilstrap was born Mar. 6, 1928, in Neosho. He was a member of Local 319 Labor Union of Joplin. Survivors, in addition to his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Gilstrap, of the home, include his mother, Mrs. Pearl Gilstrap of Neosho route 1, three sons, Lonnie Gilstrap of Kansas City, Mo., Kenneth Gilstrap and Jimmie Gilstrap both of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Leora Lance of Joplin route 4 and Doris Gilstrap of the home, a brother, Orven Gilstrap of Neosho route 1, a sister, Violet Adams of Neosho route 3 and a granddaughter. Services will be announced by Parker Mortuary.
