Description	:	Wayne Odell Ayers, age 78, of 6123 Wards Gap Rd., Cana, husband of Mrs. Naomi McMillian Ayers, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at his home. Mr. Ayers was born in Carroll County July 27, 1925 to the late Clarence Alvin and Ona Hiatt Ayers. He was retired from United Technologies and was a member of Crooked Oak Moravian Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by four sisters, Hassie Ayers, Gladys Willis, Lassie Fleming and Cassie Hiatt and by two brothers, Bobby Ayers and Hoston Ayers. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Gary Easter and Rev. Phillip Kelley. Burial was in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Hospice/Cana Division, 15397 Fancy Gap Hwy,Cana, VA. 24317.
