Read More	Wayne was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps∼Gaffney Ledger obituary May 15, 2017 Wayne Pridmore "Looney" Higgins, 79, of 108 N. Calles Street, Blacksburg, S.C., passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at Peachtree Centre. Born in Gaffney, S.C. he was the son of the late Willie Higgins and Margaret Pridmore Higgins Melton. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1959-1963. He attended schools in Gaffney and Blacksburg and graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1957. He attended in North Greenville, Gardner Webb, Upstate Carolina and various schools while in United States Marine Corp. He worked in consumer finance in North and South Carolina and was past president of Consumer Finance Exchange in Rock Hill. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Elizabeth Higgins, of Carrolton, Ga.; his step-father, Vernon Melton of Gaffney; his beloved companion, Janice Wilson; and several cousins. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702. Memorial services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lewis Batchelor officiating. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 103 S Rutherford St; Blacksburg, S.C. 29702. The family will be at their respective residences. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Blacksburg Building Fund, P.O. Box 654, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702.
