Description	:	Wayne Richard Phillips, son of Cecil M. and Loala (Kint) Phillips, was born February 17, 1918, in Wayne County, Iowa and passed away April 6, 2012 at the Prime Nursing & Rehab Center in Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Elverda Louise Rush on September 29, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. He and Elverda were both life-long residents of Wayne County where they farmed for over 43 years before retiring and moving to Corydon. Read More	Wayne Richard Phillips, son of Cecil M. and Loala (Kint) Phillips, was born February 17, 1918, in Wayne County, Iowa and passed away April 6, 2012 at the Prime Nursing & Rehab Center in Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Elverda Louise Rush on September 29, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. He and Elverda were both life-long residents of Wayne County where they farmed for over 43 years before retiring and moving to Corydon. After Elverda's death in 2005, Wayne remained in his home until November 2009 when he moved to Our House in Corydon. Wayne was a member of the Corydon First Baptist Church where he had served as a trustee and was also a member of the Men's Fellowship. He was also a member of the N.F.O. His parents, Cecil and Loala Phillips, wife Elverda and one great granddaughter preceded him in death. Wayne is survived by his daughter Janet Petty of Des Moines, grandchildren Ruth Alison Weiss and husband Devin of Riverside, New Jersey and Janel Cooper of Crawfordville, Florida, and four great grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother Wilbur Phillips of Marshalltown, brother-in-law Wilbur Rush of Centerville, sister-in-law Wilma Hellyer of Springfield, Missouri, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
