Thompson and Arlye Gladys Sharp Hall was born September 15, 1934 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, February 6, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 77 years of age. Wayne received his education in the Osceola Schools. He was united in marriage to Ella Louise Miler Thompson on October 4, 1954 in Leon, Iowa, and four children blessed this union. Through the years Wayne worked doing many different things. He drove the taxi many miles for Osceola Cab which was owned by his parents. He also worked on road construction, was a machine operator at Miller Products in Osceola and also at Gene Boles in New Virginia, and most recently worked at Osceola Senior Center which he truly loved. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed giving people a hard time. He was a tool collector and also collected toys. He enjoyed working on cars and tinkering with just about anything. Those relatives who preceded Wayne in death were his parents; step father, Kenneth "Con" Hall; twin brother and sister, Donald and Dorothy in infancy; son, Terry Wayne Thompson; sister, Marie Squier; sister-in-law, Mildred Brannon; brother-in-law, John A. Miler; parents-in-law, Ava I. and Frank L. Miler as well as his step brother in law, Martin Monroe Ellis. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Louise Thompson of Osceola; son, Donald Dean (Debbie Morgan) Thompson of New Virginia; daughters, Carol Ann Scott of Osceola and Joyce Sue (David) Steinbach of Osceola; grandchildren, Kerri L. (Dan Kalk) Steinbach of Osceola, Katie D. (Will Brant) Steinbach of Omaha, NE, Chelsi L. Steinbach of Osceola, Jaime D. (Nathan Grismore) Scott of Osceola, Nick W. (Stephanine Ireland) Scott of Osceola, Caitlin P. Mateer of Des Moines; foster grandchildren, Steven and David Provost; great grandchldren, Blaydan D. Steinbach of Osceola, Allison M. Garrison of Des Moines, Keaton W. Grismore of Osceola, Logan R. Steinbach of Osceola, Lucas W. Steinbach of Osceola; brother-in-law, Don W. Miler of Osceola; sister-in-law, Dee Miler and brother in law, Marion "Bud" Brannon of Osceola as well as other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided later. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa. Interment at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa will follow funeral services.
