Description	:	Wayne Thomas Schlosser, 57, died on Wednesday, April 6, 1988. He was fighting a fire near Timber Lake, when he was stricken by a sudden and fatal heart attack. He died at the Mobridge Regional Hospital where he was taken by the Timber Lake Ambulance Crew. Wayne was born at the Old Cheyenne Agency on June 19, 1930, the second child of Adam and Magaret (Werlinger) Schlosser. He spent his eary years on the family farm near Ridgeview and attended school there. In 1944 the family moved to a farm seven and a half miles southeast of Timber Lake, and Wayne attended the Pleasant View School with Anna (Mrs. Frank) Maciejewski as his teacher. A couple of years later he moved with his family northwest of Timber Lake. Wayne finished the eighth grade at the Sprick School. He farmed with his father, trucked with his brothers, and worked at the Maciejewski Ranch. On September 5, 1952, he married Beverly Ostrom, daughter of Emil and Helen Ostrom of Timber Lake. Wayne was a member of the United Parish church, the Masonic Lodge, the Timber Lake Fire Department, and the Moose Club at Mobridge. He was a charter member of the Timber Lake Rodeo Association. He was a member of the Dewey County Republicans. He dug nearly every grave at the Timber Lake Cemetery for the past thirty years. Wayne is survived by his wife, Beverly of Timber Lake; one daughter, April Chloe (Rick) Smith of Fairbanks, AK; two sons, Stan of Timber Lake and Jess of Moorcroft, WY; two sisters, Bernice (Peter)Kari of Meadow and Dorothy (Mike) Fisher of Faith; four brothers, Larry of Billings, MT, Jim of Belle Fouche, Bill of Sturgis, and Joe of Moorcroft, WY; and four granchildren, Troy, Aimee, Amanda, and Jesse Joe, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Tony. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, 1988, at the United Parish Church with Rev. James Towler of UPC and Father Arnold Kari of Winner officiating. Masonic rites were conducted by brethren from area masonic lodges. Burial was at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home.
