Description	:	EAST PALESTINE - Wayne Wesley McCauley, 82, East North Avenue, a son of Sherman and Bertha Haupt McCauley, was born Dec. 22, 1926, in East Palestine. He passed away Sunday evening at the Hospice House, Poland, where he had been a patient since Friday. Read More	EAST PALESTINE - Wayne Wesley McCauley, 82, East North Avenue, a son of Sherman and Bertha Haupt McCauley, was born Dec. 22, 1926, in East Palestine. He passed away Sunday evening at the Hospice House, Poland, where he had been a patient since Friday. He had served in the U.S. Army and had been employed for 46 years with the former Penn Central and its successor, ConRail, as a supervisor at the C & S Conway Yards, and later as a construction superintendent with Signals. Wayne was a life resident of the East Palestine community and was a member of the American Legion Post 31, as well as the First Church of Christ, where he sang in the choir, as well as serving as a director. He was a former member of the East Palestine Council, where he served for 10 years. His hobbies included his four sons, his grandchildren, and traveling. Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Sally Reed, whom he married Aug. 14, 1954. He also leaves his sons, James P. McCauley and Wayne D. McCauley, both of East Palestine, and Thomas and William McCauley, both of Boardman. In addition he leaves seven grandchildren, Wayne F., East Palestine, Lindsey, Columbiana, and Shawn, Concord, N.C., James W. and Leann, both of Elmira, N.Y., Brady McCauley, Boardman, and Michael, Beaver Falls, Pa., and a great-grandchild, Tristan McCauley Three brothers, Sherman, Chuck, and Paul McCauley, as well as a sister, Kathleen, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with Robert Helbeck of his church officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the combined units of the American Legion Post 31 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4579. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family has asks that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to MVI Hospice.
