From The News Frederick, Saturday, November 25, 1967 Weems Keedy Shaff, former resident of Jefferson, who in recent years has been residing with his daughter, Mrs. Catherine DeFrate in West Coxsackie, New York, died Friday morning in a veterans hospital in New York State. He was born in Jefferson on September 8, 1893 and was a son of the late Frank and Laura Wilhide Shaff. His wife Mrs. Helen F. Culler Shaff died in 1955. The daughter Mrs. DeFrate is his survivor. Mr. Shaff at one time operated a slaughter house in Jefferson and later was employed at the Brunswick Post Office. He was a member of Brunswick Lodge, 181, A. F. and A. Masons and a veteran of World War I. Friends may call the funeral home, 106 E. Church Street, Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. Masonic Memorial Services will take place at the funeral home Monday evening at 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev. Ralph H. Miller, pastor of Brunswick Lutheran Church, will officiate. It is requested that flowers be omitted. Interment will be in the Jefferson Lutheran cemetery. M. R. Etchison & Son, funeral directors.
