Description	:	Weldon M. "Sonny" Sampson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was born October 12, 1931, the sons of Weldon E. and Gladys M. (Brown) Sampson in Okanogan, Washington, and died Thursday, February 25, 1999, in Seattle after a short illness. He was descended from a pioneer family who came west over the Oregon Trail, homesteading in Oregon and later moving to the Brewster area. Read More	Weldon M. "Sonny" Sampson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was born October 12, 1931, the sons of Weldon E. and Gladys M. (Brown) Sampson in Okanogan, Washington, and died Thursday, February 25, 1999, in Seattle after a short illness. He was descended from a pioneer family who came west over the Oregon Trail, homesteading in Oregon and later moving to the Brewster area. As a young man he was active in sports and graduated from Brewster High School. On August 18, 1951, he was married to Dorayce C. "Dot" Wagg at Pateros. Sonny served the city of Brewster for many years as a city councilman, Active Club member, volunteer fireman and most recently worked on the Brewster High School class reunion. Sonny worked as Auto Parts manager for OK Chevrolet in Brewster for 20 years and in 1974 he purchased Rio Auto Supply in Brewster, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1994. His interest were camping and fishing with his family and friends, also working at home in his yard and garden. Sonny is survived by his wife, Dorayce C. "Dot" Sampson at the home; his son, Tom and wife, Renae Sampson of Seattle; his daughter, Susan Welch of Edmonds; grandchildren, Jennifer Arneson, Bob Rankin and Evan Sampson, all of Seattle; Neil, Kyle and Alexandrea Welch all of Edmonds; great grandchild, Jorgen Arneson; his sister, Irene Miller of West Richland; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Gladys Sampson. His wish is that his grandchildren were proud of him. WE LOVE YOU, Life will never be the same, goodbye until we meet again in Heaven. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund or the Brewster Senior Center or to the charity of your choice. Services will be conducted Friday, March 5, 1999 at 1 pm from Barnes Chapel, Brewster, with Father Pat Kerst officiating. Interment to follow in the Brewster Cemetery.
