A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pleasanton with Father Richard Piontkowski officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church followed by a 6:00 p.m. Vigil/Prayer Service. Willie was born September 23, 1950 in Kearney to Bernard and Corlene (Bernert) Zwiener. He attended school in Pleasanton and helped his parents on the family farm. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and racing his brothers home, among other activities. After graduating in 1968, Willie and his brothers were drafted into the United States Army. His time in the service was spent in Germany. Shortly after returning home, he met his wife, Deborah Troutt. They were married on April 20, 1974 in Pleasanton, Nebraska. They eventually bought land and built their home near his parent's farm southwest of Pleasanton. Here they raised nine children and shared their life. Willie continued to farm and took other jobs to support his family. He was always a very hard worker and took pride in his work. Willie and Deborah enjoyed time with friends, living in the country, and the everyday joys of being on the farm. He especially enjoyed a full house of kids and later grandkids. Many memories were made playing games, watching movies, telling stories, camping, fishing, and just hanging out. Holidays were always the most enjoyable as the years went on and the house got a little fuller with each addition to the family. Willie cherished his time with family and never hesitated to show off his athleticism, demonstrating how to do pushups and handstands to even the youngest of the grandkids. He loved to laugh and was always there when someone needed him. He was a kind-hearted, soft spoken, loving man that will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife Deborah Zwiener and their nine children, Heather (Ryan) Mulligan of Omaha, William (Debra) Zwiener of Omaha, Christopher (Jill) Zwiener of Fremont, Melissa (Christian) Summers of Lincoln, Jeremiah (Tabitha) Zwiener of Kearney, Gabriel (Kim) Zwiener of Pleasanton, Elijah (Brittany) Zwiener of Pleasanton, Laurel Zwiener of Lincoln, Mariah Zwiener of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Brea, Joel, Trevor, Ella, Bryson, Karsten, Aivla, Katelyn, Zachary, Sydney, Aubrey, Isiah and Noah; his older brother Ed (MaryAnn) Zwiener and twin brother, Wayne (Shirley) Zwiener, both of Pleasanton, and his younger sister, Sharon (Al) Cover of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Corlene Zwiener; nephew, Shawn Zwiener; father-in-law Samuel Troutt; sister-in-law, Denise DeLong. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
