Father Hradecgy, pastor, intoned Requiem High Mass and delivered the funeral sermon. He said the prayers at the grave in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Holub died at his home, five miles southeast of Protivin Thursday morning following an illness since 1933. His condition did not become critical until 10 days before his death. He married Barbara Hoch in Holy Trinity church at Protivin on 21 October 1902. After their marriage, they lived in Protivin until 1907. They moved to the farm in 1907 where they have lived since. Survived by his wife; four daughters - Mrs. Emma Kula, Mrs. Anton Holub, Mrs. Grace Wesley, all of Prairieburg, Iowa; five sons - August, Adolph and Leonard, all of Protivin; Leo of Charles City and Wesley of Prairieburg, Iowa; one sister - Mrs. Joseph Pecinovsky and one brother - Thomas Holub, both of Protivin; 10 grandchildren. Mr. Holub was a lifetime member of the Catholic faith. He attended Holy Trinity Church and died fortified by the last rites of his religion. He was popular among business and church associates for his geniality and loved by his family and friends for his unusual and ever failing kindness and charity. Pallbearers were Frank Vahetecka, Peter Kubik, John Bouba, Frank Hunt, Albert Jirak and Joseph Schileny. The acolytes of the Mass were: Richard Pecinovsky, Delmar Schmitt and Joseph Fencl, Jr. Out of town relatives attending the funeral war: Mr. and Mrs. John Machart, Albert Holub, Michael Holub, Jack Kula, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Simmons, Emil Holub, Mrs. Joseph Holub, Robert Holub, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Holub, Margaret Holub, Raymond Holub, Leo Powers, Mrs. Albert 'Emma" Kula, Lester Kula, Wesley Holub, Mrs. Grace Holub, Richard Holub, Mrs. Frank Holub, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Holub, all of Prairieburg, Mr. and Mrs. J. Neubauer of Cresco.
