Wednesday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Dobson, two and one-half miles northeast of Toledo. Dobson's mishap occurred near the Frank Kvidera farm, five miles southeast of Traer. Mr. Kvidera was awakened by the young man's moans about 4 a.m. and found him lying in a semi-conscious condition on the road, forty-five feet or more from his wrecked car. It was never known exactly how the accident occurred, but it was believed the car struck a mud-hole in the road and overturned. Dobson was taken to the University hospital at Iowa City in a Traer ambulance and remained there for several weeks, but when it became evident that his condition was hopeless, he was removed to his parents' home. He was paralyzed below the hips and would have been a lifelong invalid had he lived. Wendell was born on a farm near Garwin and spent his entire life as a resident of Tama county. About twelve years ago his parents moved to the Elberon neighborhood and last March to the present home near Toledo. The decedent was quite well known in this community, having worked for two or three years for Will Drinovsky and other Traer farmers. Surviving relatives include seven sisters and one brother The latter is Gerald Dobson, of Osceola, Nebraska, while the sisters are Mrs. Will Hendershot, Mrs. Jesse Routier and Miss Dorothy Dobson, all of Traer; Mrs. Ralph Foley, of Clutier; and Georgia, Ruby and Maurine, all at home. The funeral service was held yesterday afternoon at the Dobson home, with the Rev. J. H. Hampshire, pastor of the Toledo United Brethren church, in charge. Burial was in the Garwin cemetery. Pallbearers were John Altenhein, Hubert Suchy and Arthur Janssen, all of Traer; and Joe and Adolph Rayman and Charles Houska of Elberon. Contributor: George (48419540) •
